Awards to be Presented at Conference

The ZHRC recognizes health researchers, students, Artists and media personnel doing health related work with awards for their work in health promotion and health research. The ZHRC therefore calls for partners to sponsor the following awards:

Outstanding Research Institution: Recognizes a research institution in Zambia that has demonstrated a consistent level of rigor and scholarship in the field of health.

The Dr. Joseph Kasonde International Senior Researcher Award: Recognizes international individuals working in Zambia that have made a significant impact in Zambian Health research. The candidate should ideally have at least twenty-five years of research experience and must have had at least hundred (100) publications in peer reviewed international journals, fifty of these as first author and/or senior author.

The Professor Neil Nkanza Senior Researcher Award: Recognizes a senior Zambian researcher who has made a significant impact in Zambian Health research. The candidate should ideally have at least twenty-five years of research experience and must have had at least hundred (100) publications in peer reviewed international journals, fifty of these as first author and/or senior author.

Junior Researcher Award: Recognizes junior-level researchers at who have made outstanding contributions to their scholarly disciplines. Junior researchers shall be individuals aged 45 or younger, and be no more than ten years in service following attainment of their PhDs or respective equivalent post degrees/qualifications.

Best Female Researcher Award: Recognizes a female researcher in Zambia who has made outstanding contributions to their scholarly disciplines and the research environment in Zambia.

Student Researcher Award: Recognizes a Masters or PhD level student in Zambia and encourages developing researchers to pursue careers in various aspects of health research.

Best Artist in Health Award: Recognizes excellence in public health storytelling through art (written, spoken, song, or visual). The goal of the award is to recognize content that enhances the public's understanding and appreciation of health promotion, education, policy, or practices.

Best TV Health Reporter Award | Best Radio Health Reporter Award | Best Print Media Health Reporter Award: These awards recognize excellence in public health communication via media outlets (television, radio, print media, and art (visual, spoken, or song)). The goal of the award is to recognize content that enhances the public's understanding and appreciation of health promotion, education, policy, or practices.
